About
WHS Theatre
our award-winning program
Wekiva High School Theatre was established in 2008. With a group of highly dedicated students in the 9th to 12th grade, Wekiva is able to put two full-length productions a year. The International Thespian Society (ITS) is a national theatre honor society by the Educational Theatre Association. ITS has over 2.4 million students, and Wekiva High School is the proud home of Thespian Troupe 7209; a state-recognized and award-winning troupe. In 2021, Troupe 7209 was honored to make school and state history by being chosen to represent all of District V at the 2022 Florida State Thespian Competitions Opening Ceremony. At Florida State Thespians, Troupe 7209 left with Top Honors and perfect scores.
New members are inducted into Troupe 7209 each Spring, and Wekiva welcomes 9-12th grade students into 7 different theatre and stagecraft classes. Every aspect of our theatre program gives creative freedom to students- from sets and lights, to makeup and costuming.

Wekiva High Theatre is located in Apopka, Florida.
